Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Gi & no-Gi)

If you are looking to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, look no further. We have classes 5 days a week in both Gi and no-Gi (Submission Wrestling). Our classes have been designed for beginners to intermediate.


Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focusing on grappling and ground fighting techniques to resist and control your opponent. Developed in Brazil, BJJ is widely recognised as the most effective form of ground fighting and is considered an indispensable martial art in MMA. Our Jiu Jitsu black belt coaches Aleksandar Jovanovic and Shen Lam, along with brown belt coach Adam Russo, teach our BJJ classes in both Gi and no-Gi.

All our BJJ instructors have medalled in tournaments across Australia, including Pan Pacs, Melbourne Open and Asia Open.

Our expert BJJ coaches are also highly experienced stand up strikers in Muay Thai, boxing, Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu. As such, and in particular with our no-Gi, our BJJ is taught with a deep understanding of transitioning from stand up to ground fighting.


At The Ironfist Gym, our beginner BJJ program taught by our expert coaches will take you through your first few weeks where you will gain an understanding of the fundamental techniques at your own pace. And don’t worry, you don’t need a Gi to try your first class!
